Diagnostic Medical Sonography (CPE)
Below are the requirements for completing the pre-registration screening form for the Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program. Once you submit the form and are approved, you will be given permission to register for the program.

If you are registered in required courses at ÎçÒ¹Ó°Ôº you will be considered "in progress." These courses must be on your ÎçÒ¹Ó°Ôº record with a final grade by the end of the term to be eligible to start the program. Courses also must be "in progress" at ÎçÒ¹Ó°Ôº.
Classes must be completed with a grade of "C" or better. If you do not complete these courses successfully you may lose your seat in the program.
Grade Point Average (GPA)
Cumulative GPA: The Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program requires an overall GPA of 3.0 on all ÎçÒ¹Ó°Ôº courses. If you have completed less than 16 credit hours at ÎçÒ¹Ó°Ôº, cumulative GPAs from all other institutions for which you have submitted transcripts will be averaged into your ÎçÒ¹Ó°Ôº GPA. TEAS for Allied Health Entrance Exam
Completion of TEAS for Allied Health Entrance Exam (formerly called the HOBET exam) or HESI A2 Exam is required to be eligible for this program.
Minimum Required Scores
- Comprehensive: 60%
- Reading: 70.3%
- Math: 67.9%
- English: 58.5%
- Science: 47.4%
Minimum required scores in Reading, Math, English, and Science can be obtained through multiple attempts, however each attempt must have a minimum comprehensive (composite) score of 60%. If a student reaches a minimum required score in one of the four categories but does not score a 60.00% overall, the attempt will not be valid. Results of the exam are good for five years.
Exam results will be sent from the ÎçÒ¹Ó°Ôº Assessment Center directly to the Coordinated Program Entry Office.
If you took the TEAS for Allied Health exam at another school and wish to use that score, you must request your transcript to be sent to ÎçÒ¹Ó°Ôº. Log into your and order either a TEAS for Allied Health Transcript. For HOBET transcripts call (913) 661-5592. Scores sent from another school must meet ÎçÒ¹Ó°Ôº criteria.
HESI A2 Exam
The HESI exam must be completed with a 75% on all six sections (Math, Grammar, Reading, Vocabulary, Biology and Chemistry), and an overall score of 75%. Learn more about the HESI exam.
Sign up for the exam online on the :
- Click on "Course Offerings" on the left-hand side.
- Then look under "Testing and Assessments" on the right-hand side.
- Click on NMNEC HESI A2 EXAM.
You are only allowed to take the test twice in any twelve month period. The second attempt must be a minimum of 45 days after the first attempt. The third attempt may be scheduled one year after the second attempt. If you retake the exam, you should sign up for a test date that says "HESI A2 EXAM RETAKE."
Results of the exam are good for one year. Exam results will be sent from Workforce Training Center directly to the Coordinated Program Entry Office. If you took the HESI A2 exam at another school and wish to use that score, you must contact HESI directly at (800) 950-2728 and ask to have your score sent via email to [email protected]. Scores sent from another school must meet ÎçÒ¹Ó°Ôº criteria.
Complete the Following Prior to Screening
- Enroll as a ÎçÒ¹Ó°Ôº student (if you are not already a ÎçÒ¹Ó°Ôº student). Visit the Registration & Application page.
- Receive ÎçÒ¹Ó°Ôº ID number and ÎçÒ¹Ó°Ôº email address. Check your email address to make sure it is functioning properly and contact Information Technology Services if you have questions.
- If you have attended other colleges/universities, have all transcripts sent to the ÎçÒ¹Ó°Ôº Records Office and allow up to four weeks for processing. When evaluation is complete, you will receive an email showing how credits were evaluated.
- Check your record in to make sure the courses (the minimum required courses) are shown with the EXACT course numbers. If you took a similar course that did not transfer in exactly as the ÎçÒ¹Ó°Ôº required course, complete an Appeal for Re-Evaluation of Arts and Science Credits Form and submit the form to the ÎçÒ¹Ó°Ôº Records Office. Course documentation must accompany this form as stated. If the request is approved, then the transfer coursework will appear on a your ÎçÒ¹Ó°Ôº transcript, which can be viewed through .
- Take the TEAS for Allied Health at one of ÎçÒ¹Ó°Ôº's Assessment Centers. Scores are good for 5 years and will be sent automatically to the Coordinated Program Entry Office. Once you complete the form, you will be notified of your form status by ÎçÒ¹Ó°Ôº email and it is your responsibility to check your ÎçÒ¹Ó°Ôº account regularly. You will be notified of the date, time, and what courses to register for in the program. If you successfully register for the program, classes will begin in the upcoming term.
Attend Compliance Orientation
If you are successfully registered for the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program, you must attend a Mandatory Compliance Orientation prior to starting the program. During this orientation specific information will be given regarding what is required for you to get ready for the clinical portion of this program. You will receive an email from [email protected] with a deadline and a link to sign up for the orientation.
