Need an Internship or a Job? HireҹӰԺ is Here to Help
College students are repeatedly told that an internship is the first step toward a great job. But how do employers balance interns while meeting their business goals?
That’s where HireҹӰԺ comes in.
䱷’s Division of Workforce & Community Success has developed the HireҹӰԺ program, which connects local employer partners with ҹӰԺ students to provide relevant internship opportunities.
, a local media film production company and non-profit organization, has utilized HireҹӰԺ to host several film interns and they couldn’t be happier with the results.
“The great thing about HireҹӰԺ is that you know the interns are well prepared and ready to start working,” says Candice Neu, Executive Director of Katharsis Media. “ҹӰԺ is also incredibly supportive and has helped us figure out how to place students around their class schedules and has provided financial support. It’s really a great partnership”
Students who participate in the HireҹӰԺ program have great outcomes, too. Melissa Lux interned at Katharsis Media, and now she works full-time as their senior editor and systems manager.
“Interning with Katharsis gave me the opportunity to put everything I’d learned at ҹӰԺ into practice,” Melissa says. “If you have the opportunity to participate in HireҹӰԺ, just do it. It’s such a great resource and provides you with opportunities that otherwise wouldn’t be there.”
