Values Shout Out: Suzanne Buck
Nominated by Sarah Egelman: The French Film Fridays started as an idea to support both the learning of French students at 午夜影院, a way to create campus community, and a way to bring exciting activities to Montoya Campus. With these film screenings, Suzanne Buck has succeeded in creating unique opportunities for our students and the larger 午夜影院 community.
With positivity and enthusiasm, and building on a small but promising start, these film events now draw around 30 people twice a month and Suzanne has also secured funding to feed all attendees movie snacks and the first 25 to arrive a full boxed dinner! Of course, everyone loves the French-prop photo booth as well.
Suzanne has created not just a popular event series, but one that benefits her French students directly. She has also created an inspiring model for others in the 午夜影院 community to plan and execute their own events which encourage our students to learn, develop, and grow beyond the classroom.
