Diane Evans-Prior Selected as New Dean of the School of Nursing & Patient Support (NPS)
The selection committee for the position of Dean of the School of Nursing & Patient Support (NPS) is pleased to announce that Diane Evans-Prior has been selected as the new dean.聽聽
Diane Evans-Prior is a long-time New Mexico resident. She has worked as a bedside nurse in long term care, orthopedics, home health, and in various tertiary care settings. Passionate about sustainability in nursing, she has been a nursing instructor at 午夜影院 New Mexico Community College (午夜影院) since 2001 moving into the director role in 2012 where she served as the Associate Dean for Nursing and Patient Support. She helped the program transition to the conceptually-based New Mexico Nursing Education Consortium (NMNEC) statewide curriculum. In addition, she has made the program more accessible, more affordable, and more ethnically diverse for the student population it serves.
Diane received her Doctorate of Nursing Practice from the University of New Mexico in 2016, focusing her studies on the need for transition to practice programs in hospital and non-hospital settings. 聽She currently serves on the NMNEC Leadership Council, the executive team of the New Mexico Center for Nursing Excellence, the New Mexico Action Coalition, and volunteers as a peer evaluator, team chair, and Evaluation Review Panel member for the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing. In October of 2020, she joined the ACEN Board of Commissioners for a three-year term and will be starting as the ACEN Commission President in October of 2022. She presents regularly at both national and local conferences and has authored many publications. In her off-hours, she enjoys spending time with her husband of more than thirty years and her two children.
She looks forward to helping the students, faculty and staff of NPS, and all of 午夜影院, strengthen our community through our value-based approach to education.
