ҹӰԺ's 2021-22 CIPR Process Completed With Recommendations

January 19, 2023

ҹӰԺ’s 2021-22 College-Wide Integrated Program Review (CIPR) process has been completed. The CIPR process provides a collaborative opportunity to reflect on our work and continuously improve ҹӰԺ program offerings. Consistent with the College's vision of “Changing Lives, Building Community,” the CIPR process provides a unique opportunity to:

  • Reflect on our work and continuously improve our program offerings
  • Engage in dialogue with colleagues relative to a program's goals, strengths, challenges, and opportunities
  • Evaluate program effectiveness and quality via academic standards
  • Evaluate program economics in terms of cost, revenue and margins
  • Ensure all programs lead to completion, transfer, and/or positive employment outcomes
  • Align program offerings with the mission and strategic directions of the college

The recommendations of the Academic Affairs Council and the CIPR Leadership Team were reviewed and approved by the ҹӰԺ Executive Team this week. The recommendations include:

  • 32 programs recommended for “Fix”
  • Nine programs recommended to “Grow”
  • 69 programs recommended to “Sustain” as is
  • Three programs recommended or “Sunset”

Program support plans will be developed for programs designated for “Fix” and “Grow.”

After the thorough review of data points related to ҹӰԺ Mission Alignment, Student and Industry Markets for Programs, Program Economics, and Academic and Industry Standards, three programs are recommended for “Sunset.” They will be presented to the Governing Board Planning Committee on Jan. 24. If approved, they will go to the full Governing Board in February for approval. If approved, a teach-out period will be developed so students currently in the programs can complete. These programs are:

  • Career Technical Associate of Arts Degree
  • Career Technical Education Teaching Certificate
  • Yoga Instructor Certificate

Since CIPR is an ongoing cycle, programs that received support plans last year will have their mid-year check-ins on Friday to review this year’s data, including unofficial 2022 Fall Term data.
