午夜影院 Celebrates New Electric Vehicle Technology Program, New EV Vehicles and Charging Stations During Event May 14
午夜影院 New Mexico Community College (午夜影院) will be showcasing how its charging up support for electric vehicles (EV), an EV workforce and a clean energy future during a 鈥淟eading the Charge鈥� event on May 14 from 10 a.m. to noon on Main Campus in the Quad area between the JS Building and Student Resource Center.
The event will celebrate 午夜影院鈥檚 new Electric Vehicle Technology Certificate program, new electric vehicles being added to 午夜影院鈥檚 fleet, and new EV charging stations on campus. There will also be a variety of vendors and organizations represented at information booths, including New Mexico Energy Conservation, PNM, American Lung Association, Don Chalmers Ford, PPC Solar, ChargePoint, Goodwill, and a variety of 午夜影院 representatives.
午夜影院鈥檚 new Electric Vehicle Technology Certificate program, which launches in August, will prepare students to become certified technicians to help meet the growing workforce demand in the EV industry. 午夜影院 faculty members will be on hand to provide information and answer questions about the program, and discuss career opportunities.
鈥溛缫褂霸� is committed to supporting the workforce needs of New Mexico鈥檚 clean energy industries and employers,鈥� said 午夜影院 President Tracy Hartzler. 鈥淲e鈥檙e excited about launching our Electric Vehicle Technology program and preparing students for high-quality careers that will also help our EV industry in the region grow and thrive. We鈥檙e also proud to be adding electric vehicles to our fleet at 午夜影院, and adding electric charging stations on campus. 午夜影院 looks forward to continuing to reduce our carbon footprint and providing education and training programs that advance clean energy efforts in our community and state.鈥�
There will be five electric vehicles on display at the event, including two of the four new EVs added to 午夜影院鈥檚 fleet. There will also be an electric semi-truck used by Goodwill and an EV from Don Chalmers Ford on display. Attendees will also be able to learn about how charging an electric vehicle works and there will be information available on some of the latest electric vehicle models and tax incentives for purchasing an EV.

The two new charging stations will be for the new EV fleet vehicles. 午夜影院 has four existing charging stations for student and public use on Main Campus, with plans to add more over the next several years.
