Associate of Applied Science in Nursing (AASN) Program
The ÎçÒ¹Ó°Ôº Associate of Applied Science in Nursing (AASN) program has limited seats and requires a screening process before registration. Learn more about the criteria and deadlines through our Coordinated Program Entry. Designed to address the local healthcare workforce shortage, this program equips you with the necessary skills to enter the nursing field and advance your career.
You will develop clear communication, critical thinking, and compassionate care, with instruction in the classroom, lab, and clinical settings. The program culminates with a one-on-one practicum experience in real healthcare environments. ÎçҹӰԺ’s nursing program meets the requirements of the New Mexico State Board of Nursing, and graduates are qualified to take the NCLEX-RN exam. Graduates can pursue further education, including a bachelor’s degree in nursing, and find employment in various healthcare settings.
Practical Nursing ProgramÌý
The Practical Nursing (LPN) program at ÎçÒ¹Ó°Ôº provides you with essential nursing skills, including patient assessment, medication administration, and wound care, while also ensuring patients' comfort and hygiene. Graduates are well-prepared to take the NCLEX-PN licensing exam and work in hospitals, long-term care, and other healthcare facilities. ÎçҹӰԺ’s program meets the requirements of the New Mexico State Board of Nursing, ensuring you are ready to pursue your LPN career.
The New Mexico Board of Nursing has granted initial approval for the ÎçÒ¹Ó°Ôº New Mexico Community College Practical Nursing Education program in accordance with Subsection A of 16.12.3.8 NMAC. This initial approval will extend until the graduation of the first nursing class and the first quarterly NCLEX results are reported.
ÎçÒ¹Ó°Ôº-UNM Nursing Dual Degree Program
If you are looking to pursue both an Associate of Applied Science in Nursing at ÎçÒ¹Ó°Ôº and a , the ÎçÒ¹Ó°Ôº- is a great option. It is designed for students who want to stay in their community. Though based at ÎçÒ¹Ó°Ôº, you will be co-enrolled at UNM to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree.
